What is Land?
The Sandbox team note that land is a digital piece of real estate in The Sandbox’s metaverse. Game designers use LAND to build digital experiences, such as games or dioramas, and also populate it with ASSETs.
Each parcel of Land is secured on the Ethereum blockchain as an ERC-721 NFT and is individually unique.
Multiple parcels of Land can be combined to form an Estate. Special types of estates owned by more than one person are named districts.
How do you buy Land in the Sandbox Metaverse?
When buying Land directly from the Sandbox marketplace you need the ERC-20 in-game currency/Utility token called $Sand. You will also need some Ether to cover gas fees for the transaction.
Alternatively, Land is for sale on third-party marketplaces such as Opensea. Land on secondary market places is usually purchased using Ether.

With the popularity of metaverse lands increasing Sandbox has welcomed some high profile residents, such as Snoop Dog, Gucci and Atari.
Land sales Rocket:
According to the Wall Street Journal, one company purchased Land for $4.3 million. At the time of writing the floor price for an individual parcel of Land on Opensea totals 2.7 Ether, $7,372.16.
How do you secure Land?
You must know how to secure your Land if you want to become a real estate owner in the Sandbox metaverse. Land is represented as an NFT and you must secure the asset within your web3 wallet such as Metamask, or via cold storage using a hardware wallet. To ensure that your NFT remains secure do not interact with unfamiliar smart contracts, click on suspicious Discord links, and NEVER give anyone your seed phrase!
Your wallet uses your seed phrase to generate your private key, which is necessary to move your assets or prove ownership of them on the network’s ledger. If your private key is compromised, you lose control of your assets and access to your Land altogether.
